Croydon:
A Curios-city.

An autumn exhibition was comissioned as a follow up from the Curiosity Rover, showcasing all of the amazing things Croydonians created throughout the summer.

This time we were tasked with designing the exhibition space itself, the promotional artwork and print design.

Over a few weeks, we worked together to design how the space would best reflect a summer’s worth of creativity and interaction.

Understanding Croydon

After collecting such beautiful artwork from the summer, we had to then figure out how best to display it, sectioning each into Creative quest Pathways. Each pathway mission had numerous artworks, figuring out how to display them became a challenge.

The Set Up

Before setting up Concept one was appealing to euntrepenuers but lacked a consistent brand image, so concept two was chosen for development.

Developing
The Journey

The hero image artwork evolved to better represent Croydon’s landmarks, the rover and make the type more legible. Artwork stays playful, colourful but informative.

Retro, space age feel is still present.

Keeping consistency with a stylised brand kit.

Finally, to share assets with the wider team, we designed a functioning brand kit, highlighting the do’s and don’ts of applying the identity to print and digital media.

Applying the digital aesthetic to the physical product.

Once the art direction was complete, it was time to decide how to apply the assets to the different, unique sections of rover itself.

What would draw people in the most without being to overwhelming?
